Farmington Car Dealership owner Sentenced for Sexual Exploitation of Children

Sentencing update from an arrest in May of 2018 on Sexual Exploitation of Children Charges:Patrick Martinez was sentenced May ia video conference by Aztec District Court Judge Marsh.

Martinez will serve 1 year in prison. Martinez was sentenced to the maximum sentence of 11 years with 10 of those years being suspended.

Original narrative on the arrest: At 8:30am on May 10, 2018 detectives with the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, executed a search warrant on All Star Auto in Farmington.

The business’s IP address was identified in an investigation related to the distribution and possession of child pornography. Detectives learned that the business owner, Patrick Martinez, was the only one with access to the computer in the back office. Evidence was seized at the scene and Martinez was taken to the Sheriff’s Office for an interview.

Detectives verified that there was child pornography on the hard drive of the computer from the back office and arrested Martinez soon after questioning him. Aztec resident, Patrick Martinez is currently booked at the San Juan County Adult Detention Center on the charges of Sexual Exploitation of Children (by distribution; 3rd degree Felony) and Sexual Exploitation of Children (by possession; 4th degree Felony) (children under the age of 13).
